Laura Kärki (b. 1978) is a Finnish artist living in Berlin. She is known for her textile sculptures and reliefs. In them, a three-dimensional form is combined with a two-dimensional image transfer. Often the surface is completed with embroidery and textile elements that have been added like a collage. Kärki elevates the private to a general level. She does it in a way that resembles an absurd novel or a documentary film – feeling identified hurts.
The exhibition will be open from the 4th till the 27th of January. Wed-Fri 12-18, Sat-Sun 12-16.
Welcome to the opening party on Thursday, January 3rd, fro 5 to 7 pm!
