Päivi Allonen (b. 1972) doesn’t paint landscapes, but their reflections. Her landscapes are meta descriptions of the landscape, mental images of the landscape and its essence. It is indulging to immerse into the engulfing aesthetics that originate from experiences with nature, but in fact reflect states of mind.

His differentiation from modern photography has a lot to do with his methodological and instrumental rigidity: Arffman is a sworn supporter of analog photography. The photographs have been taken on black and white film with a cinematography camera.
